MYOB Acumatica 2026 Releases: What Is in R1 and R2 and Where AI Studio Stands

MYOB Acumatica 2026 R1 shipped as 2026.1.100 to 2026.1.3. No 2026 R2 notes or date as at 20 October 2026. AI Studio shipped as AI Automation in 2026.1.1.

By Bill Alvarez, Practice Manager, Auboros ·

MYOB Acumatica 2026 R1 has shipped as four point releases, 2026.1.100, 2026.1.2, 2026.1.201 and 2026.1.3, per MYOB’s 2026R1 release notes index. As at 20 October 2026 MYOB has published no 2026 R2 release notes or date. AI Studio shipped in 2026.1.1 under its new name, AI Automation, and MYOB’s notes say it is past the experimental phase and subject to licensing.

At a glance

  • Who it is for: Finance and operations managers on MYOB Acumatica (called MYOB Advanced until 2024) who want to know what the next upgrade contains, when 2026 R2 might land, and whether the AI features in the headlines are in a MYOB release yet
  • Problem it solves: Planning around a feature from a global Acumatica announcement that is not in the release MYOB has shipped to Australian tenants
  • Platforms: MYOB Acumatica 2026.1 (2026 R1), all editions; Manufacturing and Payroll items apply where those modules are licensed
  • Typical cost: Releases are part of the subscription; MYOB quotes licensing per named user through partners, and some features in the notes are “subject to licensing”. Our MYOB Acumatica cost guide covers the indicative ranges
  • Typical timeline: MYOB publishes no tenant upgrade dates; 2026 R1 reached customers as four point releases, and the upgrade procedure note has customisations validated on a 2026.1.1 development instance before the production upgrade
  • Last verified: 20 October 2026 against the 2026.1.100 release notes, the release notes landing page and MYOB’s AI Studio press release

Every MYOB Acumatica release arrives twice. Acumatica announces it globally, and some months later MYOB ships its own version with the ANZ payroll and tax changes folded in. Read the global coverage, open your tenant, and the two rarely match. Everything below comes from a MYOB page we fetched on 20 October 2026, with the Acumatica pages used only to show what is coming down the pipe.

When is the MYOB Acumatica 2026 R2 release date?

MYOB has not published one. As at 20 October 2026, the MYOB Acumatica release notes landing page lists 2026R1 as the newest release family, then 2025R2 back to 2024R1, with no 2026R2 entry. We also requested the URLs MYOB would use for a 2026.2 index, following the 2026.1 pattern, and each returned a 404 the same day.

The global side is published. Acumatica announced general availability of Acumatica 2026 R2 on 1 October 2026, and its 2026 R2 release page lists the headline items: AI Assistant and AI agents, MCP servers so approved ERP data can be read by external AI tools, a native data warehouse, the Modern UI as default, and Classic-only screens scheduled for retirement in 2027 R1. None of that is in a MYOB release note yet, and the announcement does not mention MYOB or ANZ availability.

The pattern is the only guide MYOB’s own pages give you. The release notes index shows two major release families a year for 2024 and 2025, and the 2026.1.100 notes describe themselves as including “the major Acumatica release 2026R1, along with extra changes designed for New Zealand and Australian companies”. Acumatica announced 2026 R1 general availability on 24 March 2026; MYOB’s 28 April press release said customers could reach AI Studio in May. MYOB does not say how long localisation takes, so we will not put a number on it. If someone quotes you a 2026 R2 date, ask which MYOB page it came from.

What is in MYOB Acumatica 2026 R1?

The 2026.1.100 notes run to more than eighty topics. These are the ones we would walk a finance or operations manager through before an upgrade. Everything here shipped in 2026.1.1 unless a later point release is named.

Finance. Prepayment invoices in accounts payable, including ones raised from purchase orders. Refunds can be applied to bills and invoices when a credit exceeds the document amount, depreciation method can be chosen by period, and foreign currency payments get cross-rate handling.

Inventory and order management. Batch pick lists that cope with shortages, automated receiving with recommended putaway locations, automatic lot and serial number generation, branch-specific requisitions in multiple base currencies, and ecommerce connector changes for store-currency imports and marketplace-remitted taxes. The one distributors have asked us about for years is approvals for inventory adjustments: a stock write-off can now go through an approval map like a purchase order does.

Manufacturing. Work centres grouped into departments, time tracking in seconds, and in-transit quantities counted as planned supply. The bigger item came in 2026.1.3: the Shop Floor Kiosk, where operators clock on, report quantities and scrap and backflush materials without a MYOB Acumatica login, on a free service account licence plus a paid Manufacturing Floor User licence.

Projects, CRM and platform. Automated revenue percentage for progress billing, cost forecasting by quantity and unit rate, tax on change orders, duplicate validation for customers and vendors, margin insight on quotes and electronic document signing. 2026.1.2 adds the Modern Customer Portal, managed from one Portals form (SP701000) and requested through your partner.

Security and developers. 2FA enforcement expanded to more licence types and to New Zealand sites. The REST API’s Login method is marked obsolete in favour of OAuth 2.0 or OIDC, and a Customization Project Converter turns a whole customisation project into Modern UI files in one pass.

What changed for payroll in 2026 R1?

Payroll is where MYOB adds the most on top of the global release. In 2026.1.1, a deduction pay item can be flagged as liable for qualifying earnings without being liable for super guarantee on the Pay Item Liabilities form (MPPP1025), a distinction Payday Super created. Multi-company Pay Super was early access in 2026.1.1 and opened to every site in 2026.1.2, and MYOB says all sites must review their super payment setup after the upgrade, single-entity ones included.

2026.1.2 also added a Payday Super correction tool: an Update QE Liability for Pay History action on MPPP1025 for pay runs where the wrong qualifying earnings went to STP, and two new columns on the STP Transaction Data report (MPPP4063) showing whether each pay item was liable for SG and QE at the time of the run. 2026.1.3 reworked reducing balance deductions for staff loans and advances, and MYOB warns the change may affect import scenarios and API integrations. Our MYOB Acumatica payroll guide covers the STP Phase 2 and Payday Super rules behind these items.

Is MYOB Acumatica AI Studio available yet?

Yes, under a different name. MYOB’s AI Studio press release of 28 April 2026 said: “Customers can access AI Studio in May while it’s in the early access (technology preview) phase, with wider availability and enhancements to follow later in the year.” It described AI Studio as “a new feature that provides mid-sized businesses with a flexible way to build intelligent agents into the platform they already use”, with Anthropic models through Amazon Bedrock as the managed option and your own LLM as the alternative.

The release notes are where the status changed. The renaming note in 2026.1.1 says that in 2025 R2 “AI Studio and other AI-related features were experimental” and that in 2026.1.1 “these features have advanced beyond the experimental phase”. The switches moved from the Experimental Features group to the Platform group on Enable/Disable Features (CS100000), under a new AI Studio group with two renamed switches: AI Automation (formerly AI Studio) and Anomaly Detection (formerly Detection of Anomalies in Generic Inquiries). So AI Studio is now the name of the group, and the thing you build prompts in is AI Automation. MYOB’s knowledge base adds that on 2026.1 the MYOB-managed LLM works without setup.

What we could not find is a MYOB press release declaring general availability. The press release list runs to 19 October 2026 with no MYOB Acumatica release announcement after April, and the 19 October “Iris by MYOB” announcement does not mention MYOB Acumatica. The notes also still say “This feature is subject to licensing; please consult the MYOB Acumatica sales policy”. Our reading: shipped in 2026.1.1, no longer experimental, licensing to be confirmed on your quote. Our MYOB Acumatica AI guide explains what each feature does and who approves its output.

What are the MYOB Advanced AI features in the 2026 releases?

MYOB Advanced is the old name for MYOB Acumatica, so these are the same features. In 2026 R1 the AI topics are:

  • AI Automation (formerly AI Studio), 2026.1.1, shipped. Prompts on the LLM Prompts form (ML202000) attached to any form. 2026 R1 adds data masking so account numbers and prices never leave the system, reusable system instructions on a new form (ML203000) with Security Expert and Prompt Engineer roles, and token statistics on an AI Studio History form (ML400000).
  • Anomaly Detection, 2026.1.1, shipped. Renamed, moved out of Experimental Features, and now supports nested generic inquiries.
  • AI summaries for opportunities and cases, 2026.1.1, shipped. Predefined prompts, inactive by default, that return sentiment, a summary and next steps in the side panel per the CRM note.
  • AI Assistant, 2026.1.2 onwards, shipped and licensed. A chat window that answers plain-language questions from generic inquiries you mark Expose to AI Assistant, per the AI Assistant note. 2026.1.201 opened it to more licence types and 2026.1.3 to payroll administrators.
  • Global Acumatica 2026 R2 AI items, not in a MYOB release. MCP servers, AI agents and the data warehouse sit on Acumatica’s 2026 R2 page with no MYOB ANZ release or date.

Every shipped item above drafts, flags or answers, and a person still releases the document. That is the shape we build on when we design AI agents for ERP in Australia over MYOB Acumatica. The native features do the reading and the drafting, and an approval map is the gate.

What should you do before your 2026 R1 upgrade?

Three things from the notes deserve a task in your upgrade plan rather than a skim.

  • Audit integrations for the Login method. Anything that signs in to the REST API with a username and password is on notice from 2026.1.1. Move it to OAuth 2.0 or OIDC.
  • Re-check super payment setup. MYOB says every site must review the Pay Superannuation tab of Payroll Preferences (MPPP1100) and click Sync Company Preferences on first upgrade, even if you pay super for one entity.
  • Expect 2FA to switch on by itself. The 2026.1.1 note says enforcement now turns on automatically for the affected payroll roles and licences. Tell your payroll team before the upgrade weekend.

If you run customisations, the upgrade procedure note has you validate every project on a 2026.1.1 development instance before touching production. The Classic UI retirement Acumatica has flagged for 2027 R1 is not in a MYOB note yet; the Customization Project Converter in 2026 R1 is how you would get ahead of it.

“Clients ask us for the R2 date every spring, and the answer is the same: MYOB publishes the notes when the release is ready, not a calendar. Plan around what is in the 2026 R1 notes today. The 2FA and Pay Super changes will cost you more than a missing AI feature if nobody reads them first.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is the MYOB Acumatica 2026 R2 release date?

MYOB has not published a 2026 R2 release date or any 2026 R2 release notes as at 20 October 2026. The MYOB Acumatica release notes landing page lists 2026R1 as the newest release family. Acumatica announced general availability of the global 2026 R2 on 1 October 2026, but MYOB localises each release for Australia and New Zealand before shipping it and does not publish a timetable.

What are the MYOB Acumatica release dates for 2026?

MYOB does not print dates on its release notes. The 2026 R1 family reached customers as four point releases: 2026.1.100, 2026.1.2, 2026.1.201 and 2026.1.3. MYOB's 28 April 2026 press release said AI Studio was available to customers in May 2026 in early access, which is the closest dated reference MYOB has published for 2026.1. Your partner schedules the upgrade of your tenant.

Is AI Studio available in MYOB Acumatica?

Yes. MYOB's 28 April 2026 press release said customers could access AI Studio in May in early access, with wider availability later in the year. The 2026.1.1 release notes say the AI features have moved beyond the experimental phase and rename the AI Studio feature switch to AI Automation, grouped under an AI Studio heading on the Enable/Disable Features form. The notes still describe it as subject to licensing, so confirm it on your quote.

What AI features does MYOB Advanced have in 2026?

MYOB Advanced is now MYOB Acumatica. The 2026 R1 release notes cover AI Automation with data masking, reusable system instructions and token statistics; Anomaly Detection including journal entries; AI summaries for opportunities and cases; and the AI Assistant chat, extended to more licence types in 2026.1.201 and to payroll administrators in 2026.1.3. MCP access, AI agents and the data warehouse are in the global Acumatica 2026 R2 and not yet in a MYOB release.

Do MYOB Acumatica releases cost extra?

Releases are part of the MYOB Acumatica subscription, which MYOB quotes per named user through partners. Some features in the 2026 R1 notes, including AI Automation, the AI Assistant and the paid Manufacturing Floor User licence for the Shop Floor Kiosk, are marked subject to licensing, so check them on your quote. The partner work to test customisations and integrations before the upgrade is separate.
